The Mini-Memoirs Project
HELLO MINI-MEMOIRS
The mini-memoirs project began with the goal of capturing the stories of some of the seniors in our community. We were inspired by our grandfather, who documented his life before he passed, leaving us a rich history of both the happiness and hardships he faced during his life. Were it not for the memoir he wrote, many of those stories would have been lost forever. Reading it, we thought that everybody should have the chance to tell their own story.
As time has passed, the mini-memoirs project has spread across the country as we have captured brief memoirs of individuals from 81 to 104 years old and stretching from California to Vermont and places in between. We've talked to a UN refugee relocation worker who served during WWII, a Newbury award winning author, survivors of the Japanese invasion of China during WWII, a UCSF transplant nurse and many more.
The memoirs we have produced are entirely free of charge and a gift to our community members.
